Fjällwear's story:
Born from snow
Fulpmes, Austria, 1975. A six-year-old stands nervously in ski boots, gazing down his first slope. Turning proved difficult, and despite the gentle incline, it all ended in a tumble. The following year, skiing went better — marking the beginning of a lifelong love for snow, mountains, and everything in between.
The ski trips became more frequent, as did the passion for skiing. The trips of the ’80s were as much about après-ski as they were about skiing itself, the ’90s brought new and exciting destinations, and by the late 2000s, it was more about keeping track of children’s mittens than ski maps. We often talked about the importance of having good ski gloves — ones that could handle moisture, cold, and speed; gloves that kept you warm enough to stay out longer.

A lifelong love for the mountains
Today, nearly 50 years later, we know what it takes to make a glove that truly lasts. That’s exactly why we created Fjällwear – a collection born from real experiences and shaped by a lifelong love for mountains and snow.
Though our roots lie in skiing, we know that the same demands for warmth, function, and reliability apply in other environments too. That’s why our vision goes beyond the snow. To us, a glove is more than just protection – it’s a companion.
